More airbrushing, and finally some not-airbrushing. I’ve got a spherical artillery housing with a nice smooth gradient in green (and some more cursing as the variance of body between my primer and my colours keeps fucking me up), a far out of scale fighter jet (undercoated in pink for that vibrant yellow in one coat) that I’m going to fake up as a drone done in yellow with some red/orange shading, the “diorama” stand for my spooky glowing robot team all finally primed. And, for variety, I did some beating-up on the robot parts, paint chipping everywhere. Once I have them placed and know for sure what their orientation is I’ll add rust stains on the appropriate vector. The gunpla community has been unsurprisingly good for weathering tips.
So, fairly productive week so far, despite only having an hour here or there! I’d like to get all these done because this is the last of the terrain for a while and I’m itching to paint up some urbanmechs for a buddy. And get the OSL robot experiments done. And paint my wife’s witch mini. And paint a whole stack of fantasy figures I’ve been neglecting for months. It’s odd being this energized for painting in February, for which I blame the antidepressants my former job put my on and my doctor not wanting to pull me off in the worst goddamn month of the year in Canada. If we don’t move to Spain I might legit see about getting on this shit for a few months every year; December’s great, January sucks, and February has never been fun. Except this year, when I’m on antidepressants. So, we’ll see.
Anyway, more painting to come.
